Winter Break - Friday, December 19th
will be a half day of school for the start of winter break.
We will return back to school on Monday, January 5, 2009.

Pit Orchestra Rehearsals - Rehearsals
for Peter Pan will begin on Monday, January 5, 2009 and
will be after school on Monday - Thursdays.

Congratulations to the Marching Band, Symphonic Band, and
Freshman Concert Band for getting a great start on the
year. Each ensemble spent the first day of rehearsals
laying out their goals for the year and listing the
expectations and norms for being a member of the Lions Band.

Congratulations to the Marching Lion's Band for an
outstanding start to their competition season as they traveled
to Lake Forest HS on September 27th and placed 1st in Group 2
Championship competition with a score of 79.4. Also
congratulations to Rachel C. for receiving the award for Best
Drum Major. Way to go Rachel!

Congratulations to the Marching Lion's Band for an
outstanding close to their regular competition season as they traveled
to Broadneck HS on November 1st and placed 7th out of 10 in Group 2
Championship competition with their highest score of the
season and the highest score over the past seven seasons of
84.2. Also
congratulations to Rachel C. for receiving the award for 3rd
Place Best Drum Major.

The Marching Lions Band has qualified for the Atlantic
Coast Invitational Competition for the third year in a row.
They will be traveling to Allentown, PA on November 15th to
compete.

Congratulations to the Marching Lion's Band for an
outstanding finish of their competition season as they traveled
to Allentown, PA on November 15th and competed in the Atlantic
Coast Invitational Championships. The band placed 8th in Group 2
Invitational Championship competition with a score of 81.25. Also
congratulations to Rachel C. for scoring third place for Best
Drum Major and to the Color Guard for scoring third place for
Best Auxiliary.

Winter Concert - The Winter Concert
was be held on Wednesday, December 3rd beginning with
the Jazz Ensemble playing in the Lobby at 7:00PM.
The formal concert began at 7:30PM in the John F.
Andrews Performing Arts Center and featured the Concert Choir,
Concert Band, and Symphonic Band.

Centreville Christmas Parade - The
Marching Band marched in the Centreville Christmas
Parade on Friday, December 5th. The parade
stepped off from the high school at 6:30PM and traveled through
town to the Board of Education building on the other side of
town.

Middle School Performances - The band
and choir traveled to Sudlersville Middle in the
morning and Centreville Middle in the afternoon on Tuesday,
December 9th and performed for the 8th Grade students and
share information about our programs.
